Critical Theory in Berlin (CTB) is a shared platform of the Centre for Social Critique at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the chairs for social philosophy at Free University Berlin and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. The Centre for Social Critique’s work is characterized by a dual focus on the structural dynamics of crisis and social change as well as on social movements and civil society agents. Within the frame of CTB, the critical debate on research topics is enriched through various public event formats. The CTB activities include an International Critical Theory Summer School since 2027, as well as, since 2019, the annual Benjamin Lectures.
In addition to its cooperations with the Centre for Social Critique and CritUP, the CTB platform also contributes to the projects Transforming Solidarities and Kritische Theorie(n) Pluralisieren.
